That high school phase of “I’m too cool for this.”

linatrannnnsformers:

My humanities teacher told us “Being cool won’t take you anywhere.” And it’s true. Growing up, all the other kids never did what the teacher told them to, they took everything as a joke. That they were “too cool” to do foolish things like an ice breaker or a group assignment. While you’re busy…

1. You’re in high school. You’re in college. You haven’t lived a quarter of your life yet. Don’t trick yourself into thinking you’re too cool for anything.
2. You should never be too cool for anything. It keeps you from experiencing life. There are so many stories you will miss out on being too cool.
3. Being too cool? It keeps you from meeting the real cool kids. The kids who don’t care what everyone thinks. The kids who are having a good time being themselves and enjoying all that the world has to offer. The kids who are willing to do the goofy skit welcoming freshman into the school. The kids who aren’t afraid to make a silly face to make a crying child feel better. The kids who are perfectly alright with spending their valentine’s day in a pillow fight with strangers. The kids who will love you even if you slip up, trip up, or fall.

The moral of the story? Being cool is for losers.
